Role in the BCI Knights 50th Reunion Committee: Advisor. I remember planning reunions for BCI in past years with George Hunsberger and Beryl Pflug. At some point, I’ll get too old to participate behind the scenes. Just wheel me in drooling in my wheelchair, if I’m still around. Reunions are such fun. The places people have been since high school and the stories they tell are worth it.
Best high school memory: Closing night of a show is always a highlight. After it’s all over, the Tech Crew and I often had the stage to ourselves, to clean up and put things away. That quiet moment was always a highlight. Also, it’s great to see someone’s confidence grow from performing in a show.
Worst high school memory: In my own high school (ECI), I auditioned for Bye Bye Birdie. Could not sing the audition song – at all. Got cut off after a few notes and told “Thank you”. I joined the Tech Crew that afternoon, as a set designer and painter.
What I'm looking forward to at the Reunion: I’m hoping there will be a chance for some good conversations and time to catch up to many former students and teachers, to find out what happened to them in the years since they left BCI.
